Locks are very easily overlooked when it comes to choosing a wrought iron style gate.  We tend to get caught up in decisions about style, height, and protective finishes including the colour.  But we think it’s well worth sparing some time to think about how your gate will be secured.  There are various types available, some we fit as standard whilst others are available at an additional cost.  Here, we explain their various features so you can decide which is best for you.

Flip Latch

Our single gates are equipped with a flip latch as standard.  It is universal and comes ready for you to attach the two parts, consisting of a latch and keep.  If your gate is being fitted between metal posts, we will ask you the hang and swing direction so we can weld the keep onto the post facing the right way.

Slide Bolt

Our double gates are equipped with these smooth action slide bolts as standard.  Our single gates can be fitted with them for a small additional charge.  As they cannot be fitted retrospectively it’s important that you specify if you require this upgrade to your single gate at the time of ordering.

Lockable Drop Bolt

Another standard feature of our double gates is the drop bolt which secures the gates into the ground.  The bolt can be further secured with a padlock.  As well as being functional it looks rather nice with the gently scrolled end on the handle.

Five Lever Lock

Available as an additional extra, this is an excellent ornamental lock featuring an aluminium housing and stainless steel mechanism.  The elegance of the rope twist handles make it a stylish and superb security addition for both single and double gates.  It has a solid stainless steel deadbolt with a 23 mm throw which guarantees a secure locking. The 20 mm continuous adjustability of the bolts allows for perfect alignment of your locking mechanism.  Comes complete with three keys and can be operated from both sides of the gate(s).  Please specify this lock at the time of ordering as it cannot be fitted retrospectively.
